AFTERCARE AND DIET INSTRUCTIONS

  • White Diet for 24-48 Hours: Stick to a "white diet" for the first 24-48 hours following your teeth whitening treatment. This includes consuming predominantly white or colorless foods such as plain yogurt, white rice, bananas, potatoes, white fish, chicken breast, white cheese, and clear liquids like water and coconut water. These foods are less likely to stain your teeth and can help maintain the results of your treatment.

  • Avoid Eating or drinking Immediately After Treatment: Refrain from consuming anything for at least 2-3 hours after your teeth whitening treatment. This allows the whitening gel to fully penetrate and set on your teeth without interference from foreign particles.

  • Avoid Staining Foods and Beverages: For the first 24-48 hours post-treatment, avoid consuming foods and beverages that can cause staining. This includes coffee, tea, red wine, berries, tomato sauce, soy sauce, dark-colored sodas, colored candies, and anything with artificial coloring. These items can penetrate the pores in the enamel, which may be temporarily open after whitening, and cause staining.

  • Drink Through a Straw (Optional): If you choose to consume beverages that may stain your teeth, consider using a straw to minimize contact with your teeth. This can help reduce the risk of staining while your enamel pores are more vulnerable.

  • Be Gentle with Oral Care: During the first 24-48 hours after treatment, be gentle when brushing and flossing your teeth to avoid irritating the gums or causing sensitivity. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste recommended by your dental professional.

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and help flush away any residual whitening gel or food particles. Opt for water or clear liquids to maintain your white diet and minimize the risk of staining.

  • Attend Follow-Up Appointments: These appointments are essential for maintaining your results and ensuring the health of your teeth and gums.

  • Avoid Tobacco Products: If you smoke or use tobacco products, refrain from doing so for at least 24-48 hours after your teeth whitening treatment. Tobacco can quickly stain teeth and compromise the results of your whitening procedure.

  • Monitor Sensitivity: Pay attention to any sensitivity or discomfort you may experience after treatment. If sensitivity persists or becomes severe, contact your dental professional for advice and recommendations.

  • Follow Up with Proper Oral Hygiene: After the initial 24-48 hours, resume your regular oral hygiene routine, including brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing once daily. Use a whitening toothpaste recommended by your dentist to help maintain your results.
